Safe Disposal of Needles and Pins in your Sewing Room

IMG_0300

Even after you are finished with your needles, pins, rotary blades, and other sewing sharps, they can still hurt children, pets, and wild animals if they’re not disposed of properly.  I keep a used prescription bottle right next to my sewing machine to store them.  When the container is full, then I can throw the entire container into the trash and not worry that it will hurt someone or something down the road.

As you can see above, I’ve peeled off the prescription label and wrapped the container with Washi Tape to beautify it.  How do you dispose of your sharps?  Is there a better way to handle this?
