This weekend, I Tom Sawyered my non-quilting best friend, Amy Carter, into serving as my “quilting assistant” when working on my initial Swoon blocks. What a help she was! The key to the Swoon pattern is to keep organized, and a smart assistant can keep you from having to pull out the seam ripper.
These blocks are made up of half square triangles (HSTs) and flying geese units. Each block measures 24″ x 24″, and I’m planning to use almost my entire fat quarter bundle of Lily Ashbury’s “High Street” line to make a total of 16 blocks. I’m thinking about making a huge Swoon block for the back of the quilt – you know how I like to piece both sides of my quilts!
Which block is your favorite?
